Skincare: In Your 30’S And 40’s

Skincare_30’s_40’s

Generally, patients who are not seen for skin conditions in their teens or 20s will wait until outward signs of aging begin to appear before visiting a cosmetic surgeon. At that point, patients will generally focus on treatment, not prevention. When patients come for treatment of existing concerns, we educate them on preventing new problems. In their 30s, people come in for Botox, but there may also be signs of UV damage or pigment related to pregnancies. Lasers and skin treatments may be used for these reasons.

Patients in their 30s and 40s, especially those who had greater sun exposure will start to see skin wrinkling, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation which will accelerate with age. To clear existing issues and prevent future damage, a comprehensive skincare regimen including peptides, retinoids, and stem cell extracts can be recommended.

When patients enter their 40s, loss of facial volume accompanies can be addressed effectively with hyaluronic acid injectables such as Restylane or Juvederm to restore the facial volume that is lost with age. Professional aesthetic treatments ranging from microdermabrasion to superficial peels are also very beneficial to maintain the skin’s freshness in the ’30s and ’40s and beyond.

Beautifully yours,
