Individual tattoos vary tremendously with regards to different ink colors, ink quality, as well as the different placement depths and types of pigments. Each of these differences makes laser treatment of tattoos somewhat variable from one individual to the next. With each treatment of the laser, individual pigment particles are shattered into tiny pieces small enough to be carried away by your own bodyÕs inflammatory cells. The result of this is that the tattoo lightens to a variable degree. The impact of the laser is similar to a small rubber band being snapped on the skin, and most patients do not require anesthesia.
